Support the Alice Ferguson Foundation

We were the first overnight outdoor education center in the region. Located at Hard Bargain Farm in Accokeek, we have shared the wonder of nature with Prince George’s County children, adults, and educators for more than 60 years.   Each year, more than 2,000 elementary school students explore our 330-acre working farm during day, overnight, and week-long environmental and agricultural camps. We also lead one of the largest regional community trash cleanup events on the east coast, picking up more than 300,000 pounds of trash every year in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC. Meanwhile, on our campus, visiting students and bird enthusiasts have spotted more than 250 species of birds this year alone. We also built and steward the longest freshwater living shoreline in the nation, helping protect the shores and wildlife of the Potomac River.
